Pamela is a certified clinical trauma specialist with expertise in various therapeutic modalities, including individual and couples therapy, grief and trauma therapy, substance misuse, second-hand use (SHU), co-dependency, and infidelity counselling when post-traumatic stress (PTSD) symptoms are associated with feelings of betrayal. As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), she employs cognitive and psychodynamic techniques to help clients tolerate anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, bereavement, and serious mental health issues (SMI) by expanding their window of tolerance.
Pamela was a Hospice Bereavement Care Peer Support with certification from Hospice Palliative Care of Ontario (HPCO). She has also supported clients with serious mental health issues at the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA). Using the Gottman method as a framework, she helps couples communicate directly, openly, and authentically while remaining non-judgmental and engaged.
Pamela's keen perception and use of humour, metaphors, and visualizations make therapy insightful and self-reflective. She takes a holistic approach to mental health. She continues to study the effects of crisis, trauma, anxiety, depression, loss, grief, and bereavement on a person's psychological, emotional, spiritual, and mental well-being.
