David Bruce

David Bruce, RP, CCTP, has been practicing psychotherapy for over thirty years, developing expertise in various modalities of individual therapy, couple’s therapy, addiction treatment, and trauma therapy.

David worked as a parish minister for more than two decades before moving into the healthcare sector, where he now works in mental health and addictions. David currently manages Toronto’s most extensive free psychotherapy clinic for clients on social assistance and, through the University of Toronto, mentors chaplains in the Canadian Armed Forces in modern psychodynamic methods for PTSD. David is the author and co-author of seven books.

David has earned a Bachelor of Arts (University of Toronto); Master of Divinity (University of Toronto); Doctor of Ministry (Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, CA); Doctor of Philosophy (University of Toronto); and Master of Business Administration (Herriot Watt University, Edinburgh).

As a Registered Psychotherapist, David is qualified to provide clinical supervision to fellow psychotherapists and students pursuing psychotherapy. Additionally, he holds the title of Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, demonstrating his expertise in trauma therapy.

Moreover, David was an appointed committee member who actively collaborated with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, where he played a vital role in shaping the profession and its standards.
